Couples therapy
I see couples either in person or on Zoom. In person sessions are at my practice in Totnes at Chapel House Studios. Online sessions can be from anywhere across the UK. Couples sessions are usually weekly, cost £100 and last 80 mins.
I work with couples on an open-ended basis, meaning there's no commitment to any specific number of sessions and we continue working together for however long feels useful. I typically work with couples for anywhere between 6 months to a few years.
Our work together will be tailored to your needs but broadly I will help you -
deepen connection with your partner
understand your relationship dynamics
stop the cycle of blame, attack and defense
build empathy and understanding for one another's different perspectives
take responsibility for your own contributions to the dynamics
improve physical, emotional and sexual intimacy
work through acute crises, traumas and losses
clarify and make sense of your feelings
build on the relationship's strengths and resources
learn how to communicate your needs in a way your partner can respond to
for couples who have decided to end their relationship I can help you end on the best possible terms
I know from personal experience how helpful therapy can be and I also know what a big step it can feel like. If you're not sure or have further questions then please get in touch and we can talk it through together.O
